Templates in the Notifal library are labeled Free or Pro. The label helps you find premium designs and understand which packages are aimed at advanced use cases.
This article explains what those badges mean in the library and how they relate to What Is Notifal? (Free vs Pro) on your own site.
What the badges mean
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Free | A standard marketplace template, available to all Notifal users |
| Pro | A premium marketplace template, marked as requiring Pro on the catalog |
On notifal.com, each template stores a Requires Pro flag (_nmp_requires_pro) that controls the badge and filters. Pro templates are often more specialized or part of premium collections.
Filter by license type
In the template library sidebar, open License Type:
| Option | Shows |
|---|---|
| All Notifications | Every template |
| Free Only | Templates without the Pro badge |
| Pro Only | Templates with the Pro badge |
The same filters appear when you Browse Templates on notifal.com in the public gallery.
Can you import Pro templates without Pro?
Yes, you can browse and import Pro-labeled templates from the library with the free Notifal plugin. Import adds the notification and template to your site like any other design.
The Pro badge describes the template tier on the marketplace, not a hard block on downloading the file from your WordPress admin.
When you still need Notifal Pro on your site
Importing a Pro-labeled template does not replace a Notifal Pro license. Pro unlocks features on your WordPress site, such as:
| Feature | Free | Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Multiple live notifications | One at a time | Several at once |
| Advanced display rules | Limited | Full set |
| Comment tags and counters | Comment counter needs Pro | Available |
| Generated custom post type tags | Not available | Available |
See What Is Notifal? (Free vs Pro) and connect your license under Notifal → Settings when you are ready.
Pro templates on notifal.com (public site)
On the public gallery, Pro templates may show a Pro label on cards and single template pages. Visitors can preview designs before installing Notifal.
Downloading into WordPress always happens from your admin library, not from the public download buttons on notifal.com (those are for browsing and discovery).
