Generate with AI on the OnPage Notifications list helps you build a complete notification (HTML template plus appearance, timing, behavior, and display rules).
Notifal 2.5.0 offers two paths in the same modal:

| Use another AI tool | Copy a prompt to ChatGPT or Claude, then paste JSON back into Notifal |

Where to find it
- Go to Notifal → OnPage Notifications.
- Click Generate with AI at the top of the list (next to Import).
The Generate Notification with Notifal AI window opens with Notifal AI selected by default.
Path A: Notifal AI (hosted)
Hosted generation creates a disabled draft notification you review before going live.
Wizard steps
Layout → Details → Connect (Free only) → Done
Pro sites skip Connect automatically when the license is active for this domain.
Step 1: Layout
Choose how the notification should appear:

Step 2: Details

| Your industry or niche | Helps match tone (saved once per site) |
| Your notification goal | Free text , describe what you want in plain language |
| Primary color | Brand color for the generated design |

Click Continue.
Step 3: Connect (Free) or auto-link (Pro)
Free sites: verify your Notifal account with email and a six-digit code. See Connecting Your Notifal AI Account.
Notifal Pro sites: Connect is hidden. Notifal uses your license key and domain to link the site and apply the Pro monthly allowance (gateway default 100/month vs 10 on Free).
Click Generate when ready. Notifal shows a progress loader while the job runs on notifal.com.
Step 4: Done
When import finishes:
- A success message confirms the draft was created.
- Open the new notification from the list (Status off).
- Review Template, Appearance, Timing, and Display Rules.
- Turn Enable Notification on when satisfied.
Path B: Use another AI tool (manual)
Switch to the Use another AI tool tab to use ChatGPT, Claude, or another assistant.

The AI prompt read-only area updates as you type. It includes a reference JSON shape so the AI returns valid Notifal import data.
Step 2: Copy the prompt
- Review the generated prompt.
- Click Copy Prompt.
- Paste into your AI assistant.
- Ask the AI to return only the Notifal JSON (no extra explanation).
Step 3: Import the JSON
- Copy the JSON response from the AI tool.
- In Notifal, click Open Import in the AI modal (or Import on the list).
- Switch to the Paste JSON tab.
- Paste the JSON.
- Confirm you trust the source (checkbox).
- Click import and wait for success.
The new notification appears as a draft with Status off.
Review before going live
Imported or AI-generated notifications are disabled drafts on purpose. Before turning Status on:
- Open the notification in the editor.
- Check Template, Appearance, Timing, and Display Rules.
- Turn Enable Notification on when you are satisfied.

Export an existing notification for AI
Send an existing setup to an AI for tweaks (manual workflow):
- On the list, select a notification.
- Bulk Actions → Export → Apply.
- Share the JSON with your AI and ask for specific changes.
- Import the updated JSON via Paste JSON.

ZIP vs pasted JSON

ZIP bundles must be uploaded as a file, not pasted.
