This guide shows how to put your first on-page notification live using a ready-made template from the Notifal library. You do not need to build a design from scratch.
If you have not installed Notifal yet, start with Installing and Activating Notifal.
1. Open the notifications screen
- In the WordPress menu, go to Notifal → OnPage Notifications.
You will see the list of notifications on your site (empty if this is your first time).
2. Open the ready-made template library
At the top of the page, click either:
- Add New, or
- Explore Pre-created Notifications
Both buttons open the same template library window.
Wait a few seconds while templates load from notifal.com.
3. Import a template
- Browse or search until you find a design you like.
- Open the template details.
- Click Import.
- - If both Elementor and Block Editor versions are available, choose the one that matches what you use on your site.
- Wait for the success message. The page refreshes when the import is done.
Your new notification now appears in the OnPage Notifications list.
4. Turn the notification on
Imported notifications are saved as a draft with Status turned off. Nothing shows on your site until you turn it on.
- On Notifal → OnPage Notifications, find your imported notification.
- In the Status column, switch it on.
The notification is now live on your website (using the timing and display rules that came with the template).
5. Check your website
Open your site in a browser (use a private/incognito window if you have visited the site before). You should see the notification based on its settings.
If you do not see it, open the notification in the editor and check Timing and Display Rules tabs. Some templates wait a few seconds before showing, or only show on certain pages.
6. Optional: edit the notification
Click the notification title in the list to open the editor. From there you can change:
- General: title and labels
- Appearance: position, colors, animation
- Timing: when it appears
- Display Rules: which pages and visitors see it
- Content Source: dynamic data for template tags (if the template uses them)
You do not need to change anything to test a basic import.
