Navigating the Notifal Admin Menu

5 min read

After you activate Notifal, a Notifal item appears in the left WordPress menu. This guide walks through each submenu so you always know where to click.

New to Notifal? Start with Installing and Activating Notifal and Your First On-Page Notification.

The Notifal menu at a glance

Click Notifal in the WordPress sidebar. You will typically see these items (exact labels may vary slightly based on whether Pro is installed):

  1. OnPage Notifications
  2. OnPage Analytics
  3. Templates
  4. Settings
  5. Campaigns
  6. License or Connect & Activate (Pro)
  7. Upgrade for Free! (only when Pro is not installed)
  8. Free Configuration (links to a setup guide on notifal.com)

The sections below explain what each one is for.

OnPage Notifications

Path: Notifal → OnPage Notifications

This is your home base for live notifications. Here you can:

  • See every notification on your site in one list
  • Import ready-made templates from the library (Add New or Explore Pre-created Notifications)
  • Turn notifications on or off with the Status switch
  • Click a notification title to open the full editor (appearance, timing, display rules, content source, and more)
  • Filter by status tabs (All, Published, Draft, Trash)
  • Run bulk actions such as duplicate or delete
Tip: Imported templates start as drafts with Status off. Turn Status on when you are ready to go live. See Understanding Notification Status.

The notification edit screen exists as a separate page but is hidden from the submenu. You reach it by clicking a notification title in the list.

OnPage Analytics

Path: Notifal → OnPage Analytics

View how your notifications perform:

  • Impressions and clicks over time
  • Filters by notification, date range, and status
  • Performance tables to compare notifications

Basic analytics are available on Free. Enhanced analytics (conversions, devices, geography, and more) require Notifal Pro with an active license. See What Is Notifal? (Free vs Pro).

Templates

Path: Notifal → Templates

Templates are the designs your notifications use. This screen lists all templates saved on your site:

  • Templates you imported from the marketplace
  • Templates you built with the HTML Builder, Block Editor, or Elementor

From here you can create new templates, edit existing ones, and manage template status. Notifications link to a template; changing the template updates what visitors see.

Settings

Path: Notifal → Settings

Global Notifal options that apply across the plugin. The main tab today is Tags:

  • Turn tag categories on or off (User, Post, Page, Product, Order, Cart, and more)
  • Control which tags appear in Elementor and Block Editor tag pickers
  • WooCommerce-related tags only apply when WooCommerce is active

If you use WooCommerce, read WooCommerce Setup for Notifal for which toggles to enable.

Campaigns

Path: Notifal → Campaigns

Campaigns let you group and schedule notifications for coordinated marketing:

  • Create a campaign with a name and schedule
  • Link one or more notifications to the campaign
  • Control campaign status (active or paused)

Use campaigns when you want time-boxed promotions or several notifications working together under one plan. The campaign edit screen is hidden from the submenu and opens when you edit a campaign from the list.

License (Notifal Pro)

Path: Notifal → License

Visible when Notifal Pro is installed. This screen shows:

  • Whether your license is active
  • Days remaining and expiry date
  • Reconnect License, Deactivate, and Check for Updates
  • A link to your account on notifal.com

If Pro is installed but not yet connected, you may see Connect & Activate instead. That button starts the activation flow described in Installing and Activating Notifal.

Upgrade for Free!

Path: Notifal → Upgrade for Free!

This item appears only when Notifal Pro is not installed. Clicking it opens the Notifal website where you can learn about Pro and get a license.

Once you install and activate Pro, this menu item is replaced by License or Connect & Activate.

Free Configuration

Path: Notifal → Free Configuration

This link opens a setup guide on notifal.com (outside WordPress). It is aimed at getting your first free notification configured quickly. It always appears as the last item in the Notifal submenu.
